California Video Game Law

California’s proposed a restricting new video game law (image below).
The law would prohibit selling violent video game to minors.
Stupidity, plain and simple. It’d be useless, since often it’s the parent technically buying the game anyway. Also, couldn’t they just order the game online and lie about their age?
Also, people need to stop blaming problems resulting from bad parenting (or just plain bad kids) on video games.
Will they also require proof of age to buy music like Walkin’ on the Fightin’ Side of Me, Beer for my Horses, and almost all rap music? Or how about the LOTR books? Or War and Peace? Or any Halo or StarCraft book?
Anyway, there are 11 other states showing support. Most of them are what you’d expect, but among the others are Mississippi, Louisiana, and cotton-pickin’ Texas!
Texas! It’d be such a great state if they’d deport the population of the two or three largest cities.
Also, that bit about gamers reading less? I’m definitely a gamer, and I’m not sure what I spent more time doing between the ages of 10-19; reading or playing video games. But it was probably reading.
